[00:00:00] Well, hello, hello, ladies. How's it going? Hope you're having a fabulous day. Thank you for being here with me. I am so glad to be joining you today. I am fighting a little bit of a cold. So if you hear a little of that, I don't know, cold sounding voice, that's why but I feel fine. I'm just, you know, the after effects it's lingering as they sometimes do.
But yeah, I think I picked up a cold while I was traveling and that happens, you know, when you span you know, multiple countries and. Airplanes and airports and all the things. So but it was all worth it. So I just returned. I guess it's been a week ago. Gosh, I don't know. Time is just like going so fast.
Yeah got back from a trip to Prague [00:01:00] check in the Czech Republic. I took my son, we flew over there to meet my husband who was working and it was a really fun experience to get to take my son to Europe and he's a great traveler and so interested in traveling and at a perfect age to begin seeing the world.
So so that's what we did. And that was one of my goals for the year. And it was so fun to get to achieve that and to, you know, part of having goals is like getting to dream about them. For me, it was like dreaming about it all year long and planning it and thinking about it and talking about it with him and, and then actually getting to do it.
It was. So, so fun and rewarding. So that's what's been going on, but I did pick up a cold along the way and feeling better. And so hopefully my voice will hold out for you today because I have something really important I want to teach you. And it goes along with our theme for this [00:02:00] month around creating marketing momentum.
And so I've been thinking a lot about how to teach. Marketing momentum, and so what I've come up with is a marketing momentum formula. Everybody loves a good formula, right? And so I have this formula that I want to teach you. And I think it's super valuable and it's also super simple and I think that's the power is that it really will offer you clarity and simplicity and it's totally doable and it's scalable and so wherever you're starting out, you can put this into practice and begin or continue building your own marketing momentum.
Which in turn builds revenue, it builds your business, builds your impact, your reach, [00:03:00] and all those great things that that I want for you, I know you want for you and your business. So, so let's dive in and I want to start out by talking about what is momentum and we'll just define it, set our foundation and go from there.
So according to Merriam Webster, the dictionary. One, there's a few different definitions, but the one that I like the best is that momentum is defined as strength or force that allows something to continue or to grow stronger or faster as time passes. So I love that because. What we know from physics is that a body in motion stays in motion, right?
So it we can equate this so easily Thanks physics. It's science we can equate this so [00:04:00] easily to our marketing
The hardest part is just getting going. It's the same with any big thing that we're doing, an exercise regimen, anything. It's like, getting started is always the hardest part.
So we know from physics that a body in motion stays in motion, right? And so this equates to our marketing. Our marketing, once in motion, it's so much easier to stay in motion and to build momentum and to build strength and allow it to continue and grow stronger. We grow more valuable.
and more connected and thereby create more revenue. So I'm going to go into detail in all of this and break it down coming up. But if you follow this formula that I'm going to talk about today and keep the momentum going, your revenue will grow as well. And if you listened to my [00:05:00] podcast last week, About how to have more energy, you'll understand how you can build and grow your momentum without burning out.
And I think that's so key because I don't know about you, but every time I think about going bigger in my business, right, I always think about doing more work. And. So what if going bigger and creating more meant more momentum doesn't mean that you're doing more work or that it's taking more time or taking more of you.
Right? Because it's really the quality and the value and the connection that's growing instead. So we're going deeper. We're not doing more in terms of quantity. Now, for some of us, we need to be doing more. So that's part of it. And that's something that I work with my clients on, right? Like knowing the amount that's going to [00:06:00] create the results that we want.
So so that can be a factor if you're under actioning, but most of the women that I work with that I talk to are not under actioning, they're over actioning and not getting the results because of a lot of other factors, right?
So today I want to teach you how to create momentum and how we can do it simply, how it's simple and doable and that it really is not as hard as you might think or how as it might sound, right? But first, before I go into all the details of our marketing momentum formula. First, the core belief here that might be revolutionary to many of you, and it was revolutionary to me at one time too [00:07:00] before I learned it, is that you create your own momentum.
It's not created by your outside circumstances. Like many of us think we might think that momentum is created or killed, right? By the economy or consumer behavior or an opportunity that comes your way or doesn't come your way or the election. Since we're in election season, a lot of us, you know, are thinking, how is that going to affect our business?
But if you leave your momentum up to outside circumstances. Then you have no control over it, right? And when that happens, your results are going to feel out of control. Also, your business is going to feel volatile and it's going to feel like it's changing directions like the wind, right? But what I want to ask you to consider is that and when you believe that you [00:08:00] are the creator of your momentum, then it's always in your power to ramp it up.
Or ramp it down, right? So ask yourself, how is it possible that I create my own momentum? How is it possible that you are the spark? You are the creator of your own momentum. What comes up for you? So when I ask myself this question, for me, I create my own momentum in a lot of different ways. Right. So what comes up the top of my head is like, I create my own momentum by being connected to my mission and my why, by creating passion for my work and the women that I serve.
I create momentum by showing up. Really showing up showing up in my marketing right like not just phoning it in but showing up [00:09:00] I create momentum by showing up prepared to help my clients get the results that they came for I create momentum by having clear goals and having a good solid plan to make those goals happen.
And then following that plan and honoring my commitment to my business. I create momentum by taking myself and my work seriously and taking care of myself. And, and nurturing my energy, right? I create momentum by attending to my mind and my thoughts and my emotions and my energy. And I create momentum by practicing the habits that I know add up to creating the results I want to create.
And so those things are all in my control. And does the economy or elections or, you know, Who you know who you don't know all those things affect your [00:10:00] business. Sure. It could right? Yes, it could but those things are all out of my control, right? so I'm never going to be able to control the economy or what happens in an election or The Trends in consumer behavior, I'm never going to be able to control those things.
So What I'm going to focus on and control what I can control, right? That's where my power lies. So that's where I'm going to put my focus. And that's where I'm going to put my focus in terms of my own responsibility for creating my own momentum. So when you believe that you create your own momentum, then you can create it, right?
So that's why that's such a core belief to creating momentum is to believe, first of all, that you actually can create it. So, [00:11:00] so once you are in belief that and understand and consider that you can create momentum, that you are responsible for creating your own momentum, then we can talk about applying this creation of momentum to our marketing, right?
So, here is the formula. I'm going to share it with you, and then I'm going to break it down, and explain each of the pieces, and how they add up to create momentum. So, this is a formula and it goes like this. So, connection, plus courage, plus small consistent actions over time. So I guess plus time you have to change that plus frequency equals building strength and [00:12:00] compounding results and revenue, right?
So we're going to break it down. Each piece of the formula, so I'm going to just state it one more time. Connection plus courage plus small consistent actions over time plus frequency equals momentum that compounds results and revenue. So let's break it down and I can explain to you each of the pieces.
So the spark, it all starts with connection. So connection is the spark that ignites the passion and the conviction and the compelling energy, right? So having connection, number one, to yourself and number two, having connection [00:13:00] to your mission and your why. And to yourself, I mean like, Trusting yourself and having a real healthy relationship with yourself, having your own back.
It really boils down to trusting yourself and, and having that passion inside, right. And connecting to that passion. And then connection to your mission and your why. that also sparks, right? And then number three, connection to the people that you can help. So when you think about that right fit client, that person that you can help and how you help them and the, the deep impact that your work has on them, on that person, that sparks connection, right?
So that connection piece. is the spark that begins the [00:14:00] whole chain reaction, right? So once we have that spark of connection, connection to ourself, connection to our mission and our why, connection to the people that we can help. And then we add to that courage, which I believe is more of a decision, more of an action, not necessarily a feeling.
Because sometimes we have to decide and then act with courage before we feel it. Have you ever been there, right? And so then once we have, so we first have the connection and then we add to it that courage, then that will drive those small, consistent actions. And I say small, consistent actions. Because it's not just one big thing.
And it's not just one big thing one time. Successful [00:15:00] marketing isn't doing all the things everywhere. All the big things everywhere. It's doing the small things. The few things done well that creates big results. Right? So if you're spreading to spread too thin, and you've got to think about shedding things you're trying to do that are stopping your flow of momentum and stopping your flow of connection to your people, right?
I have to do this constantly. As a marketing geek. I love trying new things. I love You know, all the trending things. I want to try them. And so that's my excuse too, right? Because I'm a marketing expert, so I have to try all the things. But, but so I, I love adding those new things and trying them. But if it's creating more complexity and it's putting more space between [00:16:00] me and my, people and putting and creating disconnection or less connection with those people that I can help, then it's got to go, right?
So I'm always thinking, even with the marketing activities that I practice consistently, I'm always thinking, how can I simplify them? How can I make them easier? How can I remove any friction that is getting in my way of Getting my message and connecting with my people and getting my message out to them as much as possible, right?
So just think about that for yourself. And that's where I help my clients to really creating that constraint and that focus and then clarity within those pieces. And so we want to know what's working and then we want to amplify those things. And so. So you might be saying, saying, Oh, okay, well, I know I've got to do small [00:17:00] consistent actions, but what are the actions?
So I teach that you need to be doing, always need to be doing three things in your marketing, bringing new people into your universe, your orbit, nurturing and growing those relationships. It's number two. And then number three, you need to be making offers and invitations for them to go to the next step with you.
And that takes knowing your client journey, right? So those are the actions you, the small, consistent actions that you're always doing. You're always meeting new people and bringing them into your universe. You're always nurturing and growing those relationships and making offers to them and invitations for them to go to the next step, right?
So that's the small, consistent actions. And then frequently is the next piece in our formula, frequently. So the purpose of your marketing is to nurture and grow relationships, [00:18:00] right? So you get to answer how frequently that is. People ask me all the time, how often should I be doing this? How often should I be doing that?
And I'll tell you what I always tell them. It's if you're building a relationship. So I equate things a lot of times to dating, but it works so well in this instance. So if you're, say, for example, you're building a romantic relationship or even a new friendship, how often are you reaching out to that person that you really want to get to know and spend time with, right?
If you're really excited about getting to know them, are you emailing them once a month? Probably not, probably a little bit more than that. I would think, right? Probably, you know, maybe you're emailing them once a month, but then maybe you're calling them or giving them a shout out on social and posting pictures with them and or sending them a love note, right?
Or sending them little [00:19:00] gifts. That's how. Relationships are built is by connection. So you're creating as many points of connection with them as you can. And that's that frequently. So you have to decide what the frequency is and it has to be maintainable, right? So, but really the underlying, the underlying thing I want to suggest is to stop thinking about your marketing as a means to get something from someone and more.
As an opportunity to love on them to give to them to connect with them, right? And so that's really what the difference is in deciding your frequency. So if you're thinking, so when people ask me, well, how often should I be sending out an email newsletter? That all comes from that thinking that selfish get energy.
Right, because you're trying to send out a newsletter to get leads or get them [00:20:00] to do something. But if you make that switch, make that shift into thinking about growing a relationship, and if you were thinking about it like you would a romantic relationship, right? You wouldn't be thinking, well, how, how often do I have to, you know, get in touch with them in order for them to go out on a date with me.
You would be thinking, You know, I just want to get to know them and love on them and connect with them. Right? So the shift is From that needing to get something from them to wanting to connect and create a relationship with them. And so that changes everything and it connects you to them when you come from that spirit, right?
So get energy done frequently. Will make people run away from you. Have you, have you ever had that with someone? You know, I mean, if we're thinking about romantic relationships, right? Have you ever been [00:21:00] in a relationship with someone or someone that wanted to date you and they just wanted to get something from you?
And you just want to run away from them. And it's the same with your marketing. If you are marketing from a place of getting something from other people and you do that frequently, they will run away from you. So, I don't know why that's so funny to me. But anyway, So It's funny, I guess, because We, we bifurcate our brains, you know, in terms of thinking about like marketing and business and working with humans.
And then if we think about the personal side, like, you know, dating coaches aren't having to teach their clients. to stop thinking about trying to get some, someone to go on a date with. Maybe they do. I don't know. [00:22:00] Anyway I digress. Anyway so that is the formula. So so I'm gonna just wrap it up like this.
So the formula connection. So the spark, right? The beginning of it all is connection. And so We can create marketing momentum by beginning with connection, connection to ourself, our mission and why, and to the people that we can help. And that connection happens frequently. For me, it happens every day.
This is what I do in my my quiet time, my devotional time, my journaling time in the morning. I'm creating the connection. So from that connection, I add courage, right? Which is more of a decision and an action, not necessarily a feeling. We just decide to be create courageous. And then we're doing those small, consistent actions every day.
Right? [00:23:00] And it doesn't have to be like I said, big, big things were. And that's where the simplicity. Comes in and the do ability like you can do this. You can do small consistent actions each day from a place of connection. And what are those actions? They're bringing new people into your world. They're nurturing those relationships and they're making offers.
And then add to that frequency. And so, like I said, you get to decide the frequency. But. You're nurturing a relationship and growing a relationship and helping people to understand how you can help them with the problems they have and help, helping them to solve problems on a daily basis, right? So put together, added together those one, two, let's see, what is it?
One, two, three, four things added together. That's your formula. That will equal. [00:24:00] Momentum. Your marketing momentum that builds strength and compounds results and revenue over time. So, I love the analogy of thinking about your marketing as an investment. And all of my financial advisors, they love it when I talk about this because it makes so much sense.
It's like compound interest, right? You are daily. Putting value out into the world in the form of your marketing and each day you're doing that it's like putting money in your savings account, right? And it adds up and adds up. And then you get the, you get the benefit over time of compound interest.
And so when you do that, you see the results. You know, the balance in your savings account [00:25:00] expand rapidly over time. And so it's the same with our marketing and it doesn't have to be hard. It doesn't have to be, you know, one big thing. It's just this small, consistent actions taken over time frequently from this place of connection and courage that will create growth.
all the momentum that you want, no matter what's going on in the economy or with the election, and will create the revenue and the business that you dream of. So how's that? How's that land for you? I would love to hear if this is helpful. I think it's such a great way of breaking down how to create momentum.
And I know it works. This is what I've been doing in my business. Not perfectly, but I have been doing it for a very long time. [00:26:00] And this is what I teach my clients and it's working beautifully for them, much better for them than, than it, than it was for me in my early years. But But that's how it goes, right?
This is that we get better and better over time as well. And that's the beauty of this is the more you're out connecting and the more you are practicing these small consistent actions, the better and better you will get. And the reason is because when we are consistently engaging with our ideas, engaging with our people and connecting with them, we get better.
at what we're, what we're offering, what we're talking about and how we're talking about it. And that only happens when we're out connecting with humans. It doesn't happen when we're sitting in our office writing in our journal, right? That's always the start of it. That's a great beginning, but then you've got to get out and talk to people and connect with people, connect with the [00:27:00] actual humans.
And it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. So that my friends, This is how we can create momentum. So I encourage you to think of this as simply as it was intended and to go out and get your momentum going and remember that you get to create it. You are in charge of creating your momentum.
